About Me
Hello, I’m Claire, an experienced and accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor offering remote and in-person counselling.

Claire Tyrrell-Williams
I have been counselling since 2017, after deciding to branch out from my 20-year career in social and psychological research.
I chose to train as a psychotherapeutic counsellor at Oxford University. First studying for the postgraduate Certificate, followed by the Diploma and then the Masters. This comprised a rigorous four years of study, which included psychodynamic theory, clinical practice and my own personal therapy and self-reflection.
Since then, I have helped both students and staff at several secondary schools across Oxfordshire, as well as clients in my own private practice here in Cumnor. Since qualifying, I have also gained full clinical accreditation with the Universities Psychotherapy & Counselling Association (UPCA).
In my approach to counselling, I strive to foster a warm, collaborative environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings safely, at their own pace. This commitment to creating a supportive space is at the heart of my therapeutic work, whether in private practice or within educational settings.
